    Asia Across the Curriculum | October 2022 Workshop

    Arkansas NCTA presents "Asia Across the Curriculum: Encountering Asia in Wellness, Science, Music, and Art" an in-person, interactive workshop taking place on October 8th.     A Workshop for K-12 teachers sponsored by the Association for Asian Studies and NCTA in conjunction with the Southwest Conference on Asian Studies

    This highly interactive on-site workshop brings together scholars from around the country to provide Arkansas teachers with opportunities to engage Japan and China beyond the traditional social studies classroom, including in physical education, science, music appreciation, and art classes. It also provides social studies teachers with high-impact instructional strategies for engaging Asian Studies in new ways—through martial arts, Buddhist tea culture, ancient Daoist chemistry, Chinese dance, taiko drumming, origami, and calligraphy. Register here!

    Where: Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center, University of Central Arkansas 

    BENEFITS:
