    Professional Development Workshop in Plumerville, Arkansas

    A new Professional Development workshop is coming to Plumerville, Arkansas on July 27th, 2020! Sponsored by ARNCTA, this workshop explores prints, film, propaganda posters, and video games as vital tools for understanding East Asia's past and present. Lunch and snacks will be provided. By participating in this workshop, you will receive 6 hours of Continuing Education Credit and $100+ in classroom materials.

    Teaching East Asia Through Visual Culture: A Professional Development Workshop for Arkansas Teachers, Grades 6 - 12 

    Are you an educator in Arkansas who wants to learn from experts in Asian history, language, and culture? Do you want to discover engaging, multilayered materials and free, online archives of important sources with English translations? Are you looking to prepare lesson plans for in-person or online instruction, and make Asia approachable to your students? If so, then this Professional Development session is perfect for you! This fun, content- focused workshop explores prints, propaganda posters, comic books, film, and video games as vital tools for understanding East Asia’s past and present.  On July 27th, come join us in our mission to teach East Asia through visual culture.
