On Saturday, October 23rd we will be hosting "Asia Today: Contemporary Cultures and Politics", a 6 hour, virtual workshop for Grade K-12 Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana teachers held in conjunction with the Southwest Conference on Asian Studies. Participants will receive 6 hours of continuing education credit, $30 worth of classroom materials, and complementary registration to the SWCAS annual meeting ($40 value) featuring cultural performances and presentations on cutting-edge research by top scholars of Asia from around the world. Any participants who attended the workshop will also receive priority registration for future NCTA events. Registration is limited to 20 participants so register here today!
The "Asia Today: Contemporary Cultures and Politics" workshop−sponsored by the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia and the Association for Asian Studies−brings together nationally renowned scholars from throughout the region to discuss some of the most important cultural and political issues facing Asia today. It also provides educators with reading materials on key issues in Asian Studies and the knowledge to effectively incorporate contemporary Asia into the classroom.
